VISITING PILOTS, FRIENDS AND FAMILIES OF PILOTS

All pilots, and their friends and family are all welcome to fly and play at Mt Brace Outdoor Club. Officials of the Club ask you to familiarize yourself with local rules, obey and respect them, take responsibility for your actions, and have a good time at our facilities, as well as the great Taconic State Park.

Please note, that every visiting person, pilot or non-pilot must become a day member (or yearly member), to enjoy our Club premises, and all of the facilities: campground, showers, hot tub, pool, volleyball, bicycles, etc. The membership is obtained after filling out the waiver and Club form and paying your dues. You must pay for a daily pass each and every day you stay on premises. Remember, weekend is considered to be TWO days so please, pay for both of them.

Fill out the forms on both sides, sign them, and place them in the envelope together with the payment, and drop them in the waiver box on the deck in LZ.

Pilots with intentions of going to launch to fly, must sign the pilot book, and notify the Park Ranger. First pilot signed in the Pilot Book is responsible for calling the Park Ranger.. PLEASE INDICATE IN THE PILOT BOOK THAT YOU DID CALL THE PARK RANGER. Phone numbers are availably in LZ. Park officials require us to notify them each and every day about our flying.

Pilots are responsible for their friends and family. Please make sure that waivers are signed, and dues are paid. Park your vehicles in designated areas, not in the front of the deck, or your tent.

If you are planning to go up the launch to watch the pilots, please follow these simple instructions:

1. Have the phone numbers to your friends, LZ and Park Police in your cell phone.
2. Each group of hikers should have a radio, set to proper frequency. Talk to your flying friends, there are always extra radios.
3. Before you head up, pick up a trail map from LZ. Follow the trail at all times.
4. we suggest water, sunscreen, hat, windbreaker.
5. If you hiking in the late afternoon, have a flashlight with you.

IF YOU HIKE DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN, USE YOUR MAP, AND FOLLOW THE TRAIL. IT IS SIMPLE. IF YOU GET LOST, CALL YOUR FRIENDS OR THE LZ FOR HELP FIRST. STAY CALM AND COLLECTED, SOMEONE WILL GET TO YOU. IF YOU GET NO ANSWER, CALL THE PARK POLICE. DO NOT CALL 911 UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY. AGAIN, DO NOT CALL 911 UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY. USE YOUR COMMON SENSE.
